Partially Uploaded Files
WebDAV isn't consistently implemented across clients and we have found that some WebDAV clients do not perform atomic uploads. This causes certain Folder Settings, such as GPG and Rename Uploaded Files, to receive partially uploaded files rather than the complete file, causing file corruption, zero byte files, and GPG processing failures.
If your counterparty is limited to using WebDAV then try and mitigate the propagation or processing of partial files. Do not implement automations, encryption, or Folder Settings on destination folders of WebDAV uploads as these will act upon partial files. Try and target file name patterns that omit partial, or temporary, file names. Use schedules to delay actions on uploaded files. For example, if you expect files to be uploaded at 9 am then use an automation with a custom schedule set for 10 am, so that you allow an extra hour for any remaining data to be uploaded.
We strongly recommend using our Desktop App on desktop computers, rather than the built-in WebDAV client, so that partial data isn't uploaded into folders that have Folder Settings configured for them.
