Sumo Logic

The Files.com integration with Sumo Logic allows you to transfer Files.com log files into your Sumo Logic environment using Sumo Logic’s cloud-hosted HTTP Logs & Metrics collector. This setup ensures that your data is current and available for real-time analysis.

You can configure the integration to send various types of log data directly to Sumo Logic, seamlessly integrating Files.com as a data source for your Sumo Logic dashboards and reports.

Getting Started with Sumo Logic Integration

To forward logs using Sumo Logic's HTTP Logs and Metrics Source, configure Files.com to send log data to the Sumo Logic HTTP Logs endpoint.

Start by setting up an HTTP Logs and Metrics SourceExternal LinkThis link leads to an external website and will open in a new tab in Sumo Logic to obtain the necessary HTTP Source Address, which also contains the token.

On the Sumo Logic's Collection screen, click on Add Collector and choose Hosted Collector as the Collector Type when prompted. Follow the instructionsExternal LinkThis link leads to an external website and will open in a new tab with the default options selected to complete the rest of the configuration. Once the hosted collector is added, you will receive an HTTP Source Address.

Configuring Files.com for Sumo Logic Integration

Use the HTTP Source Address URL provided by Sumo Logic as the Destination URL in Files.com, and assign a Name for the integration to complete the setup. Sumo Logic typically embeds the authentication token in the HTTP Source Address URL, so there is no need to configure the authentication token separately.

You can configure additional headers by specifying the Header Name and Header Value in the Key and Value fields, respectively, if you need to pass extra headers to your Sumo Logic setup.

Once configured, Files.com will send your log data to Sumo Logic in real time, allowing for efficient monitoring and analysis.

Choosing Log Types to Forward to Sumo Logic

When configuring the Sumo Logic integration with Files.com, you can select which types of logs are forwarded to your specific Sumo Logic instances. By default, all log types are enabled, but you can customize the log types collected for different instances as needed. Refer to the Log Types section to review the available options for forwarding logs to your Sumo Logic platform.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with forwarding or receiving logs in Sumo Logic, start by verifying that the HTTP Source Address is accurate and correctly configured in Files.com as the Destination URL, and that the URL includes the associated authentication token.

If you are still experiencing issues, check for network connectivity issues or firewall rules that may be blocking the communication between Files.com and your Sumo Logic environment. For additional insights, review any SIEM-related logs under External Logs by selecting "SIEM" as the Event Type. These logs may help identify any issues with the log forwarding process. If the problem persists, refer to Sumo Logic's troubleshooting documentationExternal LinkThis link leads to an external website and will open in a new tab for further troubleshooting steps.
