Settings Changes
The Settings Changes log records administrative configuration changes across your Files.com site. It serves as the primary audit log for site-level administrative activity performed by Site Administrators and Folder Admins.
This log captures changes to site-wide settings and folder configurations. Any administrative action that modifies how the site operates appears in this log. Each entry includes the user who made the change, the timestamp, and the specific configuration values that changed.
Files.com retains these logs indefinitely while the site remains active.
Administrators, security teams, and compliance teams use the Settings Changes log to audit administrative activity, investigate configuration changes, troubleshoot operational issues, and meet compliance requirements. The log provides clear visibility into who made a change, when it occurred, and what changed.
Site-level activity in this log covers a broad range of administrative configuration changes that affect how the Files.com site operates. This includes updates to storage regions, Remote Servers, user accounts, SSO providers, User Lifecycle Rules, Automations, data governance settings, security settings, custom domains, and site branding, along with other infrastructure, access, and system-level configuration changes.
The log records folder-level configuration updates, including Inbox settings, Remote Server Mounts, Sync configurations, Webhooks, Publicly Serve settings, and other folder configuration changes.
Accessing Settings Changes Logs
Administrators can review Settings Changes logs directly through the Files.com web interface in the Logging section. The web interface also allows administrators to export the report for offline review, reporting, or archival. Settings Changes logs can also be accessed or delivered through additional methods that support automated analysis and processing.
